A destroyer that cannot shoot again without a season at a pier is a radar on a hull.

Huntington Ingalls cuts steel at Pascagoula and Newport News. General Dynamics does the same at Bath and Groton. RTX and Lockheed fill Mk 41 cells with Standard Missiles, Tomahawks and ESSMs.

Empty casings and a closed crate on a ship deck at morning.
Empty casings sit beside a closed crate on deck.

Thesis map

A hull can leave the yard before Mk 41 cells are loaded, and a destroyer still cannot reload without months at a pier.

Huntington Ingalls cuts steel at Pascagoula and Newport News. General Dynamics does the same at Bath and Groton. RTX and Lockheed fill Mk 41 cells with Standard Missiles, Tomahawks and ESSMs. A keel-laying is a public day. A full magazine is not.

The chain

  1. 01

    Hull in the water

Huntington Ingalls and General Dynamics cut steel and launch hulls. A launch day is public. It is not a loaded magazine.

  2. 02

    Mk 41 cell

RTX and Lockheed fill Mk 41 cells with Standard Missiles, Tomahawks and ESSMs. The cell is the magazine the hull needs after it leaves the yard.

  3. 03

    Pier season

A destroyer that cannot shoot again without a season at a pier has launched without a reload. Reload at sea is still mostly a study.

  4. 04

    Reload in the water

The dated test is a navy notice that names a reload method in the water, not a study. Until that notice, the magazine lags the hull.

Long side

Owns the scarce object. Named filing, named plant, named queue.

HII

Huntington Ingalls

Pascagoula and Newport News

Huntington Ingalls cuts steel at Pascagoula and Newport News. Newport News is booked through the Columbia class and the next carrier. That is a hull calendar, not a cell calendar.

GD

General Dynamics

Bath and Groton

General Dynamics cuts steel at Bath and Groton. Electric Boat sits on the same Columbia book. The yard can still outrun the magazine.

RTX

RTX missiles

RTX fills Mk 41 cells with Standard Missiles, Tomahawks and ESSMs. A bid in the name is not a restock of the cell. The plant reprints one round on a plant calendar.

LMT

Lockheed cells

Lockheed fills Mk 41 cells beside RTX. Camden reprints PAC-3 on the drone page. This page is the surface magazine the hull takes to sea.

Short side

Constrained by the chain, or a substitute that is not the product.

short

Keel-laying day

A keel-laying is a public day. It photographs steel. It does not load a cell. Treating the ceremony as a navy is the short.

short

Empty cell

An SM-6 or ESSM fired at a cheap visitor is a cell that stays empty until the ship can reload. A hull photograph is not a magazine.

short

Reload-at-sea study

Reload at sea is still mostly a study. A study is not a method in the water. The pier season remains the reload until a notice names otherwise.

How they interconnect

  • Hull in the waterneedsMk 41 cell

The launched hull needs a loaded Mk 41 cell. Steel in the water without a round is a radar on a hull.

  • Mk 41 cellwaits onPier season

An empty cell waits on a pier season. The ship cannot shoot again until it reloads alongside.

  • Pier seasonis notReload in the water

A pier season is not a reload in the water. The notice that spends the thesis has to name a method at sea.

  • Huntington IngallscutsHull in the water

Huntington Ingalls cuts the hull at Pascagoula and Newport News. That is the launch calendar the magazine has to match.

  • General DynamicscutsHull in the water

General Dynamics cuts steel at Bath and Groton. Same hull calendar, different yard, still not a cell.

  • RTX missilesfillsMk 41 cell

RTX fills Mk 41 cells with Standard Missiles, Tomahawks and ESSMs. The plant is the magazine, not the keel photo.

  • Lockheed cellsfillsMk 41 cell

Lockheed fills Mk 41 cells on the same load. Camden PAC-3 is a cousin file. Keep the surface magazine on this page.

  • Keel-laying dayis notHuntington Ingalls

A keel-laying day is not Huntington Ingalls filling a cell. The ceremony photographs the yard, not the magazine.

  • Empty cellwaits onRTX missiles

An empty cell waits on RTX and Lockheed reprinting the round. A hull photograph does not restock it.

  • Reload-at-sea studyis notReload in the water

A reload-at-sea study is not a method in the water. The pier remains the reload until a navy notice names otherwise.

If you believe the thesis

Yards can launch hulls faster than RTX and Lockheed fill Mk 41 cells. A keel-laying is a ceremony. A destroyer that cannot shoot again without a season at a pier is a radar on a hull.

If the thesis is incorrect

A US or allied navy notice by 31 December 2028 names a reload method that is in the water, not a study. A public inventory that shows cells growing faster than the hulls they sit in would also spend the gap.

Newport News and Electric Boat are booked through the Columbia class and the next carrier.

The missing piece for surface combatants is a reload that does not need months at a pier.
