S&P Global still licenses the index while ratings cycle with issuance

The data seat is duration. Tracker flows are not a house view. No index AUM sat on a filing.

Moody's gets paid when companies issue. MSCI licenses indexes. FactSet sells a data seat. S&P Global printed 443.51 on the 5 September scan, up 0.14 percent on the five-day window, and that share does not name an index license. No ratings dollar, index AUM, seat count, or fee rate sat on a filing on this file.

S&P Global printed 443.51. Moody's printed 493.55. No index AUM sat on a filing.

A five-day plus 0.14 percent in S&P Global does not print a license year. Friday 4 September Financials printed plus 0.05 percent. Energy led at plus 1.66 percent. Utilities were plus 0.25 percent. The S&P 500 closed 7,718.6, down 0.38 percent, with 42 percent advancing. The VIX closed 14.39. The 10-year sealed at 4.78 percent, up two basis points. A flat financials sleeve on that tape is a sector session.

Moody's printed 493.55 on the same date, down 4.2 percent on the five-day window. MSCI printed 573.01, up 0.39 percent. FactSet printed 301.96, down 2.3 percent. Moody's still gets paid when companies issue, refinance, or come to market. MSCI licenses indexes. FactSet sells a data seat. Same Financials weather, three different books. The 4.78 percent coupon is an input to issuance. It does not reprint a tracker license.

Japan sits in EWJ. Eurozone sits in EZU. Hong Kong sits in EWH. Software versus semis sits in IGV and SOXX. Those funds are wrappers a holder already chose. They do not make S&P Global long Tokyo or long the semiconductor stack. Flows into a tracker can swell while the license is flat, and can leave while the license holds. BlackRock's iShares book is a fee on someone else's allocation. This file is the other side of that fee: the license to track, if a filing later names it.

This file has no index AUM integer to write on 443.51. On this file the observations stay S&P Global at 443.51 on 5 September, Moody's at 493.55, MSCI at 573.01, and FactSet at 301.96. No index AUM integer sat on a filing.
