The waste has to go somewhere

Heat has to go somewhere. The rack slide skips the constraint that takes it.

Every leftover from the last four sentences has a serial object that already exists. Hitachi's 375-ton crane is the leftover of a megawatt slide. Butler Works is the leftover of a 2029 bay. Vertiv's 2.3 megawatt cabinet is the leftover of a token. Foundayo is the leftover of an injectable. EMBRAZE is the leftover of Foundayo. Figure at $174 is the leftover of a robot deck. Flatten those into one leftover trade and you get a false headline. Do not flatten them.

The dates are already on paper. 2029 on a South Boston completion. 2028 on a Butler induction furnace. First half of 2027 on a Bellevue switchgear floor. 17 August on a Hefei bushing spend. 22 August on a Forge print. 1 April on a tablet. 8 June on a kilogram. 26 May on a cabinet. A date is not a unit on a rail.

Hefei is the exposed shop

The letter the week actually produced is a $300 million note from Beijing and Zurich. On 17 August Hitachi Energy put money into Hefei, Anhui, for a transformer plant, an ultra-high-voltage bushing facility, and a digital tap-changer line. Bruno Melles called it part of a $9 billion plan. James Zhao pointed at eleven existing China sites. Five days after that note, Forge printed Figure at $174.00, down $20.93. One is a porcelain insulator. The other is a used share. Neither is a winding that left Virginia.

A crane is not a transformer

Hitachi Energy broke ground in South Boston, Virginia, on 29 June 2026. $457 million. About 825 jobs on about 850 already there. The campus has been a plant since 1968, when it was Westinghouse. Engineering News-Record: more than 300,000 square feet, bays taller than 120 feet, a 375-ton overhead crane, rail out the back. Greg Callahan told ENR the project was a little behind. Completion is still 2029. A press release does not ship a unit. A height variance is not a nameplate.

Cleveland-Cliffs Butler Works, in Lyndora, Pennsylvania, is the only US producer of grain-oriented electrical steel. TRAN-COR is the only high-permeability electrical steel made here. Lourenco Goncalves, on the second-quarter 2026 call: induction reheat done in 2028, about 25 percent more GOES at that plant. WPXI: $170 million, $75 million from the Department of Energy, four induction furnaces in, two natural-gas slab-reheat furnaces out. About 25,000 extra tons in the original DOE write-up. That is not a second mill. It is a better furnace on the only one. You can announce a $457 million plant. You cannot wind a core without this coil, or an import.

Eaton, 8 April 2026: more than $30 million, 370,000 square feet in Bellevue, Nebraska, medium-voltage switchgear, production in the first half of 2027. Area Development, 22 April: the former Blue Buffalo site. Thirty million is not a 375-ton crane. It is a yard device on a reused slab. Power-AI is the queue and the turbine. Southaven is 69 machines on Stanton Road. Bellevue is the box those machines still have to land in. Do not merge them. A PJM tariff is not a TRAN-COR coil.

A used share is not a winding

Figure AI's last primary was a Series C above $1 billion in September 2025, led by Parkway Venture Capital, at a $39 billion post-money. NVIDIA, Microsoft, and Bezos Expeditions were already on the February 2024 Series B. No primary has priced the company since. Forge Global's derived price on 22 August 2026 is $174.00, down $20.93, or 10.74 percent, on Forge's own page. That is a model on thin private prints, not a market cap. Physical AI is priced. The winding is not.

The FDA approved Foundayo, orforglipron from Eli Lilly, on 1 April 2026. NDA 220934. Once-daily small molecule. ATTAIN-1 highest dose, on treatment: 12.4 percent, 27.3 pounds. Self-pay from $149. Medicare Part D as low as $50 from 1 July. Appetite as access printed. Nature Medicine, 8 June 2026: EMBRAZE, 102 adults, tirzepatide plus apitegromab. 1.9 kilograms less lean-mass loss at week 24. Relative retention 54.9 percent. Scholar Rock funded it. A letter is not a label. A Smucker mix print is not EMBRAZE.

Vertiv, 26 May 2026, London: CoolChip CDU 2300 in EMEA, 2.3 megawatts, liquid-to-liquid, in a row or a mechanical room. Microsoft already wrote liquid-to-chip, 2026 and beyond, closed loop. Goodyear's 157th Avenue plant had no room above 500,000 gallons a day. Microsoft put $36 million toward a $90 million expansion and agreed later halls would be air-cooled. A cabinet moves heat. Someone still has to reject the loop. Space is the hedge when the basin is full. The cabinet is what you buy first.

What a groundbreaking cannot do

Cross-asset does not care which crane is hung. A groundbreaking is not a gold print. AI abundance cares only if the middle's hosting cost becomes a cooling-and-steel cost. It has not, on the invoices that page already named. A Hefei bushing is not a token price.

A refutation would look like this: a named large-power transformer from the South Boston expansion with a Hitachi or customer notice by 31 December 2029; or a Cliffs notice that Butler induction is complete and GOES shipments from that mill are up versus the 2026 baseline by 31 December 2028; or a Phase 3 lean-mass program with an NDA or a pre-announced filing date by 31 December 2028; or a named hall that discloses a CoolChip-class CDU and the heat-rejection path by 31 December 2027. A 17 August spend is none of those. A $174 print is none of those.

The honest uncertainty is which serial object gets a number first. If a South Boston unit leaves on the rail and Butler is still progressing well, the bay shipped and the coil is still one mill. If Butler adds tons and the 375-ton crane is still a variance, the sheet moved and Virginia did not. If EMBRAZE becomes an NDA and Figure is still a secondary, the kilogram became a product and the robot stayed a used share. Those three sentences can live in the same year. A $300 million shop in Hefei is a fact about one part. A $174 derived price is a fact about one cap table. Neither is a transformer on a railcar.
