How the composite is built.

Eight inputs → four checks → one 0–100 score, action, and short verdict. Same mapping on the site and on /v1/scan/{ticker}. Built so you can audit every badge — live or from a sealed session.

Components and R:R are always on the card. Thin reward:risk never earns ENTRY. That's the standard. Weekly autopsy on /post-mortem.

Price···

Composite 88 clears the structure floor.

Catalyst···

No dated catalyst — a score with no reason to move.

Flow···

Volume / money-flow components support the move.

Risk···

Reward:risk is 1.0:1 — clears the ENTRY floor.

3 · Eight inputs, four gates → one call
ZION: ENTRY · PLAY · R:R 1.0:1

Catalyst gate holds it back — which is why most names never surface.

Watch it run — sealed

Replay a past call. Same gates. Frozen board.

Pick a hash-chained session and a name that cleared that day. The walk uses only sealed facts — no survivorship rewrite.

Inputs (each mapped to 0–100 for display)

RSI (14)

0–100 oscillator. We care about where it sits on a pullback, not “overbought” slogans.

MACD cross + histogram

Direction and acceleration of the short-term trend. Cross flags a turn; histogram size is how hard it is still moving.

Bollinger width

Compression vs expansion. Narrow bands = low recent range; we score that as coiled, not as a direction call.

ATR %

Average true range as a % of price. Stops and targets are multiples of this, so volatile names are not treated like utilities.

CMF

Chaikin money flow over the lookback. Positive when volume-weighted close is supported; negative when it is not.

Relative volume

Today’s volume vs the 20-day average. Breakouts on average volume score worse on the flow check.

Momentum (5d / 10d)

Whether the name is still moving in the same direction across sessions, not a one-day spike.

Relative strength

Return vs the S&P over the same window. Outperformance while the index is soft scores higher.

Checks

Four booleans on every card.

They are not marketing. They are the fields under gates in the API and the reason ENTRY can be demoted.
1

Price

Score and structure threshold: roughly score ≥ 55 or an explicit buy flag. Extended names still show; rank suffers.

2

Catalyst

Earnings or dated event inside ~21 sessions, or a catalyst note from the engine feed.

3

Flow

Relative volume ≥ 1.1× or CMF positive. Otherwise the flow check fails.

4

Risk

R:R ≥ 1.0 to pass. Below 1.0 demotes ENTRY → WATCH; below 0.5 is PASS/SKIP and stays off the brief.

Ops

What the public site actually runs.

Refresh

Snapshots rebuild on a schedule. The engine pill shows as-of time (client-side relative age after load). No baked countdown in static HTML.

Universe

Public board is a ranked S&P-core slice. Daily seals freeze the full scored card store when warm (~500 names) into the hash chain.

Paper book

Headline is mean trade return; 10% equity sizing is the desk path. Full-capital sequential compound is labeled an artifact. Wins and losses both published.
